NOTE: Bold, shadowed links link to CPSN documents.

NOTE: This is not an official document (see disclaimer at bottom). As such, every person who has filed to run for a seat may not be listed. While a few may have been overlooked, some candidates who have decided to run their campaign only on a social network may have been intentionally left off the list. However, most of the latter have been listed but without a link. Others who qualified within the past month may not be listed.

Potential candidates are also not listed.

Should you find a serious contender missing or an error, please go to the bottom and send the Old Man an email.

Whale and Politicians

Amend the US Constitution to limit the terms of service of US Congress to 12 years.
It is not about Left, Right, or Middle. It is about We the People... Americans.

2 puppets, 1 master

There are at least 84 members flying under the Democratic flag who belong to one or more organizations that do not represent core Democrat values:

These are members who discourage Democrats from voting and should be sent packing in the next election.

The first two following links are CPSN post on these "Non-Democrats". The remaining links were filed by other sources.

How the Democratic Party Lost Its Soul:

"The trouble started when the Party abandoned its working-class base."

Wall Street's Democrats

The New Democrats: The Coalition Pharma and Wall Street Love:

"Lobbyists have mingled with [Democratic] lawmakers and their staffers at least 850 times during fundraising events and informal get-togethers
[over the past 18 months]".

Election Info

All U.S. Representatives are elected every two years. Currently there are 435 Representatives. The number from each state is determined by population based on the U.S. census. Census' are taken every ten years, with the last in 2010.

After a census is taken, state legislators and Governors have the option to re-draw District lines within their state. The stated purpose of line changes is population changes. However, these line changes usually have more to do with gaining a U.S Representative electoral advantage rather than population change. The state political Party in power during a census year will attempt to re-drawn Districts to their advantage - which is illegal and almost always challenged by the opposing Party. That is why political Party's consider state elections that will include census years more important than others.

(hover) = Affiliated with Tea Party and/or endorsed by Tea Party during election.
(hover) = House Freedom Caucus (Tea Party 2.0 spawned by the Koch brothers). Members are much farther right than traditional Republicans. That group was the primary proponent and executor of the Republican Congressional strategy to force a government shutdown. Utah (4 Districts) - Primary to be held June 28, 2016. Where a single candidate has already received the support of more than 50% to 60% of the delegates at the Party Convention (the percentage itself is set by the Party), that candidate receives the Party's nomination. Otherwise, the top two vote getters at the Convention advance to the Primary. The "Count My Vote" laws lets candidates skip the convention and appear on the primary ballot. Conventions are held by the Constitution, Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican Parties prior to the primary.

Washington (10 Districts) - Primary to be held August 2, 2016 - Washington has a "Top Two Primary" meaning the two candidates who receive the most votes in the primary and receive at least 1% of the votes cast qualify for the general election regardless of Party. Each candidate for partisan office may state a political party that he or she prefers. A candidate's preference does not imply that the candidate is nominated or endorsed by the party, or that the party approves of or associates with that candidate.
