NOTE: Bold, shadowed links link to CPSN documents.

NOTE: This is not an official document (see disclaimer at bottom). As such, every person who has filed to run for a seat may not be listed. While a few may have been overlooked, some candidates who have decided to run their campaign on a social network only may have been intentionally left off the list. However, most of the latter have been listed but without a link. Others who qualified within the past month may not be listed.

Potential candidates are also not listed.

Should you find a serious contender missing or an error, please go to the bottom and send the Old Man an email.

There are at least 16 members flying under the Democratic flag who belong to one or more organizations that do not represent core Democratic values:

These are members who discourage Democrats from voting and should be sent packing in the next election.

Election Information

Not all U.S. Senate seats are up for election the same year.

There are two Senate seats for each state, totaling 100. Seats are set as a "Class": Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3. Over a period of 3 election cycles (6 years), all seats will face election. 33 seats are set for Class 1 and Class 2. Class 3 has 34 seats.

Only Class 3 seats are up for election in 2016, highlighted with lime (green) background. However, due to a resignation, retirement, death or appointment, a seat in another Class may be up for election, and are referred to as a "Special Election".

Class 1 seats will be up for election in 2018. Class 2 seats are scheduled for election in 2020.

  • GOP 'Conservationist' Running For Senate Has Ties To Companies That Pollute The Environment
  • Just last week a woman who gathered signatures for Keyser [to get on the ballot] was arrested on 34 felony forgery charges.
  • A corporate lawyer who worked with fossil fuel interests in 2014 accounted for nearly half of his client base.
  • Keyser has strong financial connections to extraction industries like oil and gas corporations that often object to stringent environmental laws, or face lawsuits for polluting the air, water, and the open spaces.
  • Keyser turned his back on many green policies, according to Conservation Colorado, an environmental nonprofit with a board of directors comprised in part of former and current politicians. In 2015, Conservation Colorado gave him just a 43 percent score in part because he voted against two energy efficiency tax credits.
  • Keyser's campaign has benefited substantially from oil, gas, and mining interests, which have given him nearly $55,000, or roughly 17 percent of the $272,000 he's accrued
